2010 ABC Awards of Excellence and Merit
- Juneau received an Award of Excellence for the historic renovation of The Ellis on Peachtree. An Award of Merit in the Institutional Category was earned for the Gold LEED renovation
of the Old Civil Engineering Building at the Georgia Institute of Technology. And an Award of Merit in the Commercial Category was garnered for the Ellis on Peachtree.
Bulldog 100 Inaugural Class Includes Nancy Juneau
- Sponsored by the University of Georgia Alumni Association, the Bulldog 100 is a program that will determine and award the 100 fastest growing businesses that are owned or operated
by UGA Alumni, each year. Rankings are based on compounded annual growth rate of revenues for the past three years. Juneau’s president, Nancy Juneau, was presented with an award
at the Bulldog 100 Celebration that occurred in Atlanta at the InterContinental Buckhead on January 30, 2010.
Georgia Trend Magazine’s "Fastest Growing Companies" (2009 and 2010)
- Juneau Construction Company is proud to be included on Georgia Trend magazine's list of 40 Fastest Growing Companies, for the second consecutive year. Even in a major recession,
there are companies that are not only surviving, but are thriving. Juneau has earned the right to count itself among other industry leaders who are cutting their way through the
brush of this battered economy. Juneau was ranked as the 12th fastest growing middle-market firm in the state.
Atlanta Business Chronicle’s "Best of Historic Renovations"
- A historical theater, built in 1927, and renovated in 2004, Dallas Theater, a world-class performing arts center, and its new Civic Center, are located on Main Street, in downtown
Dallas, Georgia. The theater is a member of the League of Historic American Theatres and was recently awarded the Best of Historic Renovations by the Atlanta Business Chronicle
(April 2009).
Juneau Earns Gold STEP Award for Safety:
- The Associated Builders & Contractors of Georgia recently announced its 2008 safety award recipients that included Juneau Construction Company’s 2008 Gold STEP Award. The association’s
National STEP and Georgia Chapter safety awards are presented annually to those Georgia contractors that have achieved the lowest rate of on-the job accidents in the state and
who have demonstrated their commitment to safety. Winners of the Georgia Safety Awards of Excellence are determined by calculating a company’s total incident rate and the amount
of time lost due to job-related injuries. Companies with rates lower than the national average qualify for the Georgia safety awards.
Atlanta Urban Design Commission Award of Excellence 2008:
- The 127-room Ellis Hotel in downtown Atlanta has received the 2008 Atlanta Downtown Design Excellence Award in the Hotel category. The award, presented by Central Atlanta Progress,
an urban improvement organization, recognized Ellis Hotel as a newly created Downtown Atlanta space that demonstrates excellence in design. The Ellis completed a comprehensive
$28 million dollar restoration in October of 2007. Formerly the Winecoff Hotel, extensive renovations to The Ellis included reconstructing its original air terrace into the Ellis’
E Street Grille, balcony seating and preserving the historical integrity of upper level floors, while enlarging the room size. Earlier in 2008, the hotel also won an award from
Atlanta’s Urban Design Commission for historic preservation. An elegant boutique hotel, the Ellis features two stylish meeting rooms, a modern board room, high-speed wireless
internet and 2,200 square feet of Event & Meeting Space.

Atlanta Regional Commission Exceptional Merit for Sustainable Building and Design Award 2007:
- In late 2007, Juneau Construction Company earned the Exceptional Merit for Sustainable Building and Design Award from the Atlanta Regional Commission. Juneau teamed with Gwinnett
County and Lord, Aeck and Sargent for the Gwinnett County Environmental and Heritage Center project. The three entities designed and constructed one of the most inspirational
structures in the region. The 59,000 square-foot Heritage Center uses 75 percent less potable water and 35 percent less energy than conventional buildings of the same size. It
has been awarded a gold level LEED certification rating by the U.S. Green Building Council. The most unusual feature is the green roof covering the entire facility. Nearly an
acre in size, it is the largest sloped, vegetative roofing system in the United States. Other innovative features include porous pavements, bio-retention areas, rain gardens and
constructed wetlands.
