Juneau Presents Plaques to South Georgia College
Posted: 10/26/2009

Recently, Juneau Construction Company presented five plaques to South Georgia College in remembrance of the demolition of two buildings (Cooper & Proctor Halls) that where originally built on campus in the 1950s.

This project is not part of the Tiger Village Phase II that Juneau is currently building on campus. The demolition started September 28 and is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

Cooper Hall was a two-story, 24,800 square foot former student dormitory. Until demolition started, it was being used for storage. South Georgia College plans to redevelop the existing area as a parking area. Proctor Hall was also a two-story former student dormitory consisting of 5,700 square feet. The college plans to landscape the property upon completion of demolition.

Plaques where presented to Wanda Lloyd, Virginia Carson, Dr. Georgia Wingblade, Jim Cottingham, & Plant Operations, all of which have been very active in all projects Juneau has done for the college.
