What led you to the construction industry?
When I was a teenager, my father was the minister of a growing Methodist church
that needed to expand its facilities in order to serve the community. I observed
the entire process from conception to fund-raising to design and construction. As
I mowed the church lawn that summer, I saw the construction of a gymnasium, a classroom
and a community center. After graduating from college with a degree in finance and
accounting, I knew that I wanted to apply my business skills to the construction
industry.
What is it about your job that inspires you?
I love going to work knowing that I have the ability to effect positive change every
day. Juneau promotes a culture of continuous quality improvement, and every single
employee is empowered to engage in this process.
Why has Juneau been such a perfect fit for you?
Juneau is a perfect fit for me because I believe in getting things done. The Juneau
environment encourages hands-on participation. We hire self-motivated individuals
that chip in to get things done regardless of their job description. That is why
we are successful, everyone feels as though they are part of the process.
