This project consisted of a new 30,000sf building with 9,494sf of that being a senior
center. The 1-story building houses a community center with meeting rooms, classrooms,
a game room and an aerobics/dance room. The Senior Center contains a billiard room,
classrooms, meeting room and a “senior lounge.” Additionally, this project included
multiple new parking lots, new site utilities, a soccer field expansion, two outdoor
basketball courts, and two miles of asphalt trails. Grading for a future gymnasium
is also included in this project.
In addition to the complicated building with very high-end finishes, this project
included several separate components with individual contract completion requirements
including the first bridge in the company’s history! Gwinnett County was able to
hold the first event in the building (a Christmas party for more than 80 senior
citizens) in December 2006, almost 2 months earlier than Juneau’s contractual completion
date of February 3, 2007!
