Dining Hall – South Georgia College

The Dining Hall at South Georgia College is a major renovation of an historic building on campus with an addition that will double the facility’s footprint. Day One capacity of the dining hall will be 300, with ability to expand to 600 without additional construction.

Originally built in 1927, the Nursing/IT building served as a dining hall until 1995 when it was converted into the instructional facility it serves as now. Therefore, maintaining the historical character of the building, while realigning it with current campus planning efforts, are the chief drivers of design for this project. As much of the external character of the historic building as possible will be preserved, while the new addition will hold enough of its own look to distinguish it from the current building.

This project includes a C-store and café area and relocates campus dining facilities from perimeter of campus to campus center, between housing and academics.
