This 60,000 square foot, 296 bed renovation included replacement of the existing
2-pipe HVAC system to an upgraded 4-pipe system, complete with all new fan coil
units. Built in the early 1960’s, the MEP systems in the building were beyond their
intended life-cycle and in need of replacement. All waste, vent, and supply piping
was replaced in the complete plumbing upgrade, and electrical systems were enhanced
including supplements to the existing dorm room circuitry. In addition, a complete
wet pipe sprinkler system was provided, along with a new hydraulic elevator, added
and a new stairwell. Architectural finishes were upgraded throughout the building
including new exterior storefront entrances and newly created entry vestibules.
